On the 11th and 25th of July we will conduct several hide processing experiments at Masamuda in Vlaardingen.
Diederik Pomstra, an expert on stone age techniques, will guide the volunteers of Masamuda in processing three different animal hides with flint scrapers. This way, we hope to gain insight into how the Vlaardingen people used their flint tools. During the experiments every step will be recorded and time will be kept. Furthermore, the flint tools will be examined for microwear traces.
The public is invited to visit us during these experiments and learn more about the way the Vlaardingen people lived, more than 5.000 years ago.
